Laurin Hahn is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of mobility provider Sono Motors. Together with his friend Jona Christians, he embarked on an ambitious journey after graduating from high school in 2012: the development of an efficient, accessible electric vehicle, that is suitable for everyday use and equipped with a battery that can be charged by the sun. Within three years, the friends transformed a conventional vehicle into an electric car with integrated solar modules. Based on the vision of a sustainable mobility concept, independent of fossil fuels, Sono Motors GmbH was founded in 2016 by Laurin Hahn, Jona Christians and Navina Pernsteiner. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, a small team of enthusiasts took only one year to develop the first prototype of the Sion, which was presented to the public in July 2017. The concept of the vehicle is pioneering: The Sion will be the first series produced electric vehicle able to also charge its battery via solar panels that will be offering integrated ride, car and power sharing services.
