Instrumen develops Supportive and Robotic Medical Technology for Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS).
Instrumen develops Supportive and Robotic Medical Technology for Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS).The Instrumen Systems are developed based upon surgeons demands and feedback and do make MIS easier, safer and accessible to everyone in need. The core of the Instrumen Technology is based upon the patented Adjustable Remote Center of Motion (ARCM) mechanism which allows to build a range of modularly designed passive as well as active surgery support Systems. In July 2013 Instrumen introduced its first System, the VESALIUS Position Holder (VPH). The VPH is a modular, universal instrument positioner and holder for single-hand manipulation which outperforms existing holders in compactness, stability and ease-of-use. When using the VPH in positioning and holding scopes, surgeons experience more stable imaging, extra precise manipulation and reduced workload of assisting staff.Through the development of a generic Robotic platform, Instrumen is also developing a series of advanced Robotic Medical Systems. This generic Robotic platform prototype is being further enhanced through R&D-activities in domains like interfacing, image processing, surgical integration,
