His team has created new globalization models and advisory services, promoted innovation in solutions and services, and provided delivery excellence to serve customers.As India Site Leader, Shahpurwala steers a strong executive team to innovate out of India for the rest of the world, develop and manage the partner ecosystem, create relevant market solutions, and foster business acceleration. He has helped turn the Cisco Globalisation Center East in Bangalore into Cisco's second largest R&D base, an intelligent green campus that supports employee flexibility and mobility to enhance the workplace experience and productivity.Shahpurwala joined Cisco in 1992. His key accomplishments include building the services and data center businesses, and directing Cisco's new focus on industry solutions. Shahpurwala was a founding member of the Network Supported Accounts group, which grew to become the Advanced Services team.In 2001, he left Cisco to become a key executive at Andiamo Networks, a start-up manufacturing storage switches that was later acquired by Cisco. On his return, Shahpurwala built and co-led the billion-dollar Advanced Services enterprise business. There he pioneered the data center networking practice and led the worldwide technology practices for OSS, infrastructure, and security. Most recently, Shahpurwala served as Senior Vice President for Advanced Services in the Asia Pacific, Japan, and China regions.Shahpurwala is the inventor of NatKit, a remote network monitoring tool for which he was awarded a patent. He sponsors the Early Career Network at Cisco, a community platform for new hires looking to expand their network, access training and events, and get support for career development.Shahpurwala is often quoted in print media addressing diverse themes including globalization, innovation, talent development, nurturing leadership, and industrial solutions including physical safety and security issues that affect organizations and governments.Shahpurwala holds a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Western Michigan University.
