Fraser Gray is the business development and site manager of the Innovacorp Demonstration Centre (IDC) in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. His focus is on attracting and developing business for IDC, including developing a new market model for forestry products and other bio-resource supply chains and building a pipeline of significant new business ideas and sponsors. He also establishes attraction, introduction, and project evaluation processes for the site. Prior to joining Innovacorp, Fraser was the general manager of finance at Atlantic CAT, where he was responsible for all financial processes for the company. Fraser has extensive business and industry experience in the sawmill and biomass sectors. Previously, he was the regional manager for J.D. Irving Ltd. and was responsible for a $60 million sawmill and woodlands operation. As regional manager, he effectively rebuilt the leadership team and private sector partner relationships resulting in a 50 per cent increase of the wood supply. The turnaround of the wood merchandising business improved safety and engagement and boosted net revenues by $2 million. Fraser was the CFO and vice president of strategy, planning and administration at AV Group and was responsible for all business processes for the company, including leading the company’s ownership changeover from a public, joint investment company to a private, integrated operation. Fraser holds a bachelor of commerce from Mount Allison University. He attained his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia in 1988.
