FT Chong is a Managing Director for the PineBridge Investments (formerly AIG Investment Group) in New York. He joined the company in 1998 and currently leads the Direct Investments Team, which focuses on private equity and mezzanine investing in developed markets such as the United States and Europe.

Chong has worked in buyouts and leveraged financing since 1981. Prior to joining PineBridge Investments, he was executive vice president for business development for the GT Group, an Asian conglomerate, from 1994 to 1998. In the early 1990’s, he was a founder and chief financial officer of Dynadx Technologies, Inc., a start-up company that developed and marketed a new out-of-home advertising technology. Until 1990, he headed the U.S. leveraged finance group at Swiss Bank Corp. and participated in or led the financing for more than two dozen high-profile leveraged buyouts.

Chong is or has been a director of numerous companies in a variety of industries, including Fresh Direct, Tensar, FMC Cardiovascular Resources, FieldTurf and Faith Media Holdings. He received an MBA from Columbia University and also has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya.
