Ian participates in all aspects of Northleaf’s private equity investment activities, with a focus on the origination, evaluation and monitoring of the firm’s private equity and venture capital investments, particularly in North America and Asia/Rest of World. Ian serves on the advisory boards of several partnerships within Northleaf’s portfolio.Prior to joining Northleaf’s predecessor, TD Capital, in 2008, Ian worked at CalPERS, helping manage a $40 billion private equity program, where he was responsible for the global venture capital and Asia private equity strategies and served on the Infrastructure Advisory Committee involved in the approval of an approximately $3 billion initial infrastructure allocation. Previously, Ian was a Partner with KIMC, a boutique private equity advisory firm, and spent six years in the venture capital group at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan executing a fund and co-investment strategy. Ian’s prior experience includes various financial and accounting roles.Ian received a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from Concordia University and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.
