Joe Carr has over ten years of mining industry experience. He graduated from Camborne School of Mines with an MEng in Mining Engineering, where he was awarded the Rio Tinto Mining Engineer Scholarship.His first permanent role led him to Finland, where he worked on a greenfield gold development in the Arctic Circle for Agnico-Eagle.After this he worked as a mining engineer in Saudia Arabia, on another greenfield constuction project: the Jabal Sayid Copper Mine.After the project closed he moved to London, spending the past four-and-a-half years consulting to the mining industry in a technical, due diligence and business improvement capacity. Consultancy has led Joe to work for numerous mining companies including Rio Tinto at Oyu Tolgoi in Mongolia and Pueblo Viejo for Barrick.Joe Carr joined Inmarsat to lead its mining sector development, partnering with innovative mining business to help utilise Inmarsat’s industry leading satellite communications services.
