John Berger has more than 19 years of experience in the power industry. He co-founded Sunnova Energy Corp. in November 2012 and serves as chief executive officer. Prior to Sunnova, he co-founded and served as chief executive officer of SunCap Financial, a leading residential solar power service company.Before SunCap, Berger co-founded Standard Renewable Energy (SRE), a top-10 provider of renewable energy and energy-efficient products and services for residential, commercial and government customers. He also co-founded and served as managing partner for Contango Capital Partners, LP, a venture capital firm focused on renewable energy and energy technology companies. Berger began his career in 1996 as an analyst for Enron Corp. and completed his tenure there as director for Enron Energy Services.Berger graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2003. He served as an advisor to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during business school.
