Jose is a VC-backed founder, investor and advisor to both emerging tech start-ups and funds. As a Principal at Silicon Valley’s Mach49 Venture Investing practice, he specializes in advising Fortune 1000 organizations on how to design and manage world-class corporate venture capital funds, from developing the optimal investment thesis to unlocking access to top startup founders and investors globally, leveraging his network spanning from Silicon Valley to Asia.

Notably, Jose is also an Advisor to pebblebed, a frontier tech venture fund started by founding engineers at Facebook AI Research and OpenAI; and a Seed Investor and Advisor at Web3 company poko.fund (YC W22), among several others.

Prior to joining M49’s Venture Investing team, Jose also worked as a Venture Builder at Mach49, making him a trusted advisor to corporates seeking strategic advice across the ‘build, invest, partner, buy’ spectrum. Jose also has an extensive background advising Fortune 1000 companies in various other capacities, including as a New York qualified corporate finance lawyer at Linklaters, Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group, and Cloud Insight Director at Oracle. He has helped companies reach critical corporate milestones — from the design and execution of multimillion-dollar go-to-market strategies and digital transformations that tackled emerging markets across Southeast Asia — to helping banks restructure and navigate new regulatory requirements in order to withstand the European debt crisis of the 2010s.

Jose holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree from King’s College London. He also obtained a diploma in venture capital fund formation from 500 Global, and holds certifications as a Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Professional Scrum Master, and member of the New York State Bar.
