Entrepreneur & investor with a passion for disruptive technologies, Makoto started his career pushing the envelope of wireless handset operating system design at Symbian and Nokia, then joined AuthenTec to lead applications engineering and integration of their embedded biometrics devices with global Tier-1 notebook PC and handset brands. After AuthenTec, Makoto made the transition from engineering to marketing & business development at Validity Sensors, where he spearheaded their embedded product as Technical Marketing Manager and eventually Director of Business Development, APAC. Both companies enjoyed successful exits; following which Makoto began a consultancy and early-stage investment firm whose portfolio now includes some of the leading technology companies in the blockchain space. Makoto is a polyglot with mastery of several East Asian languages, has managed ~60K followers on StockTwits and enjoys diverse subjects, including Finance, Economics, Philosophy and History.
