Martin Maher is a senior Identity & Access Eng and thought leader, with a focus on Network Security, at Healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente.

His ardent pursuits are - 1) Simplifying the user identification and authentication process thru the use of strong methods; and 2) Minimizing the number of times a user is mindlessly required to enter a password.

Martin has spent 40 years using, and abusing, privilege on computer systems. He also has much experience proving he is someone else, which he vows he has only ever used for good.

He coined the maxim "Think Attacker, Play Defender©" and believes that "Network Engineering ensures the network is here today. Network Security ensures the network is here tomorrow. Compliance investigates why the network wasn't here yesterday."
