Nader Al-Naji is the creator of the DeSo blockchain, a new layer-1 blockchain designed to decentralize social media, and scale storage-heavy infinite-state applications to one billion users.

Today, DeSo has over 1.5 million wallets, can be accessed via apps like Diamond (diamondapp.com), OpenProsper (openprosper.com), NFTz (nftz.com), and DAODAO (daodao.io), and it has raised over $200 million in funding from backers including Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, and many others.

Prior to working on DeSo, Nader was a pioneer in the decentralized stablecoin space with a company called Basis, which raised $140 million in funding.

Prior to founding Basis, Nader was an engineer at Google and a quant at D. E. Shaw & Co. Nader attended Princeton University where he graduated summa cum laude in Computer Science in 2013 with one year of advanced standing.

Nader got his start in crypto in college where he met Mark Karpeles on a trip to Japan (the former CEO of Mt. Gox) and managed to mine a full 24 Bitcoin on free campus electricity.
