Robert co--founded Solar for Schools in late 2015 to accelerate the pace of change to a carbon neutral world. Solar for Schools provides tools and education to students to fight climate change all paid for from the fund and asset management fees from looking after solar panels on each school. The idea was to combine his experience in internet business models and VC to build a scalable business based on a digital platform to ultimately enable 2000 schools a week to go solar and 2bn young people to receive carbon literacy education.

Robert has nearly a decade of experience in Venture Capital having served as Partner and then Venture Partner for Greencoat Capital in the UK and previously as Principal and then Entrepreneur in Residence at at [TVM Capital.](/financial-organization/tvm-capital).Where he was involved in European deal sourcing primarily in the areas of Internet applications and software, including software as a service, open source business models, hosted applications, ecommerce and ebusiness platforms as well as investments in environmental technologies. Particularly clean energy generation, where he led the investment in Lumicity a solar project developer and TenkSolar, a next generation module manufacturer. He also oversaw the turnaround of the investment in SELC, a smart controls company for street lighting.
Robert has over 10 years experience in creating and running high growth technology companies, such as Hotels.com and netXtra a web development agency that was acquired in 2019.
He was a founding member of two CEO mentoring groups in the UK, co-founded the INSEAD Energy club in 2006, where he organised Singapore first seminar on renewable energy investments and was a founding member of the Munich Network Cleantech Venture Group.
Robert was brought up in South America, has lived in the UK, Singapore, France and Holland and speaks Spanish, English and German. He holds a MEng. Honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London, an MBA from INSEAD and used hold a commercial pilot license.
