A coder since primary school, Samantray co-founded NowFloats to help small businesses get online and discovered. He is also the co-inventor and chief advisor of Bolt, the world's first smartphone charger for motorbikes, Before taking the entrepreneurship route, he was a senior software engineer at Microsoft. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, India.

He was also on the Forbes 30 under 30 for his contributions towards enterprise technology.
