Shawn Kung is a serial technology Advisor and Investor in early-stage software startups. Based in Silicon Valley, he is currently a Venture Partner at AV8 Ventures and an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford University. Previously he was Head of Products, SaaS platform at Tenable ($3 Billion Nasdaq IPO). Shawn has also served as Vice President, Strategic Accelerator at Micron Technology.

Prior to that, Shawn was the Founding Head of Products at Aster Data Systems (acquired for $300M). Earlier in his career, he served in Product and Marketing leadership roles at NetApp, Oracle, and Ariba (SAP).

Shawn has also served as an EIR at Angels Forum, a Mentor at Alchemist and TechCode Accelerators, Chairman of the UC Santa Cruz Center for Research in Open Source Software, and Founding Partner of LucidCloud Advisors. He earned a B.A from Princeton University, M.S. in MS&E from Stanford University (Valentine Fellowship), and Certificate (Honors) from Harvard Business School.
