Bill’s vision for the investment business brings a fresh approach and unique philosophy to the world of investment management. After graduating from the U.S.Naval Academy in Annapolis, Bill served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. After a stint consulting for regulators, Bill moved to Wall Street where he was an analyst, trader, and ultimately a portfolio manager. Upon leaving the Street, Bill served as a consultant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. When Bill founded Piedmont in 2003, he set out to create not just another investment firm, but rather to create a new “category” and to redefine the traditional investment model. His view was that the delivery of investment advice was ripe for innovation, and it has been Bill’s vision to challenge the conventional model. He believes that the relationship between the client and the advisor should be free of conflicts, and that asset allocation should not be constrained to the public financial markets. To execute this philosophy, Piedmont has developed a revolutionary investment model that is composed of three interdependent concepts: Liquidity, Wealth Creation, and Wealth Preservation.
